Meet the Team

Christine Coleman
Since qualifying from Kings College I have had over 20 years experience in dental hygiene.

Outside dentistry, I’m interested in music, gardening and cookery.  I have 2 children and live in Kent.

Sarah Godbolt

Since qualifying from Kings College in 2009 as a dental hygiene/therapist, I have seen excellent results with patients who have never seen a hygienist before.

Catherine Pavitt

Since qualifying at Guys Hospital in 1994 I have specialised in treating patients with special needs, the elderly and those with severe gum disease and implant dentistry.

What does a hygienist do?

The hygienist’s job is to ensure that gums are as healthy as possible through regular maintenance.

Remember healthy gums do not bleed.

Gum disease or gingivitis is caused by accumulation of plaque and calculus (tartar) around the teeth and gums.  The first sign of gum disease is bleeding from the gums when you brush your teeth.  Advanced gum disease can also be treated by our hygienists over several sessions with regular maintenance visits thereafter for teeth retention in the future.

Gum disease can be prevented by a) thorough scaling carried out by the hygienist and b) thorough plaque removal using toothbrush, inter-dental brushes and/or floss.

At this practice, a visit to the hygienist lasts 30 minutes.  During this time the hygienist will scale your teeth removing calculus and staining.  She will also offer advice and demonstrations on how to clean the teeth and gums in order to keep them healthy.

Charges

For each 30 minute appointment there is a £42.00 charge.  All patients are reminded prior to their appointment as there is a strict cancellation policy in force.  Failure to give at least 24 hours notice or failing to attend will result in the total cost of the appointment being charged.
