Cerec 3D System CAD/CAM system is used to provide porcelain tooth coloured crowns and inlays allowing the dentist to protect and preserve your own tooth’s integrity whilst providing excellent aesthetics to match your own teeth. The results are highly durable and long-lasting and restorations can be made in a single visit with no need for temporary fillings/crowns. Visit Cerec for further information.
Halitosis If a person has healthy teeth and gums, the next most common source of malodour is the tongue. Bacteria produce volatile sulphur compounds (VSC’s) and these have been shown to congregate on the tongue. We can now measure the level of VSC’s present and instigate appropriate treatment where necessary.
Implants Implants are the modern way to replace missing teeth without causing any damage to neighbouring teeth. Made from titanium, they are placed directly into the bone to replace the missing tooth root. Once the implant has integrated into the bone, it is restored with the appropriate superstructure, whether this is a crown, bridge or even a denture. Each case is assessed individually and a tailor-made treatment plan will be constructed after careful discussion and treatment planning

Inlays and Onlays These are recommended in situations where the cavity is very large but the surrounding tooth is healthy. These restorations are more conservative than a crown but still restore the tooth to function.
Invisalign® Invisalign is the nearly invisible way to straighten your teeth - clear, removable and comfortable. Your dentist will examine you and develop a computer model of your treatment and a course of treatment will be agreed. A series of aligners that fit only your teeth will be made. Each aligner is slightly different, each one moving your teeth gradually into the desired position. The time taken to complete each treatment varies according to the individual but the average time is 12-18 months.
Laser Dentistry Using the very latest technology, the dental laser has many uses: from root canal treatment to the treatment of gum disease and helping to prevent cold sores.
Porcelain Crowns Porcelain crowns and bridges are used to treat badly broken down, heavily filed or cracked teeth. They are made exclusively from porcelain to create a natural, lifelike restoration. Unlike more conventional crowns which often have an unsightly ‘black line’ at the gum margin, crowns can be used in a number of cosmetic situations such as aligning crowded teeth, lightening tooth colour, and closing gaps. As they are very strong and bond to the tooth, they are very durable and long lasting.
Bridges are one of the ways to replace missing teeth. They use other teeth as supports and are fixed in place with no need for removal, unlike dentures.
Teeth Whitening
In Surgery Using the Zoom!® whitening system can make your teeth dramatically whiter in just 2 hours. The process lightens discolouration of the enamel and dentin. The dentist applies whitening gel which is specifically designed to be used with the Zoom! light. The Zoom! light and gel work together to gently penetrate your teeth, breaking up stains and discolouration. Once a session has been completed, you are given take-home trays and bleach to maintain and continue the whitening process.
Take Home At the first appointment, moulds are taken of your teeth. These moulds are sent to specialised laboratories where trays are tailor-made for your mouth. A second visit is then required for the dentist to fit your trays, give instructions and bleach for home use.
Tooth Coloured Filings Whilst dental amalgam is a durable material, it is not very pleasing to the eye. Modern tooth coloured fillings come in a wide range of shades and can be made to match your existing tooth colour. They are exceptionally aesthetic and very long lasting and make a natural looking alternative to dental amalgam.
Veneers Veneers are very thin facings that are placed onto the front surface of teeth to improve their appearance. These can be made from either porcelain or composite filling, depending on each individual case.
They can be used in many situations such as
Payment When a course of treatment has been agreed between patient and dentist, an initial deposit is payable, with additional payments being made as the treatment progresses. Any outstanding balance is payable on completion of treatment. For courses of treatment over £500, we offer the option of an interest free loan.
